HelloFellow App Terms of Service
Effective date: June 2026 Last updated: November, 2026
Welcome to HelloFellow. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and HelloFellow LLC (“HelloFellow,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They cover your use of the HelloFellow mobile app, our website at hellofellowapp.com, and related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use HelloFellow.
1. What HelloFellow is
HelloFellow is a fellowship app for Christian women who are new somewhere, whether you have moved to a new city, relocated to a new country, or are traveling for a season. It helps you find other Christian women nearby, find a local church, plan fellowship before a trip, and grow through devotionals and Bible studies.
HelloFellow is for friendship and fellowship. It is not a dating service, and it may not be used for dating, romantic solicitation, or business promotion.
2. Who can use HelloFellow
To create an account, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- be a woman who identifies as a Christian and agrees to uphold our community standards;
- give us accurate information about yourself, including your real first name and real date of birth;
- complete our identity verification (Section 4); and
- not have been removed from HelloFellow before.
You may have only one account, and it is for you alone. You may not create an account for someone else or let anyone else use yours.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at support@hellofellowapp.com if you think someone else has used your account.
Keep your profile accurate. Your date of birth is checked against your ID during verification, so it cannot be changed in the app afterward. If it is wrong, contact us.
4. Identity verification
To help keep HelloFellow a safe place for women, every member must verify her identity before she can see other members’ profiles or connect with them. Verification may include:
- a government-issued photo ID; and
- a live selfie taken in the app, which may include a simple pose such as a smile or turning your head.
Verification is reviewed by our team. We may approve, decline, or ask you to try again, and we may decline anyone we cannot verify. While your verification is pending, other verified members may see a limited version of your profile and send you a request, and you will be connected once you are approved.
Verification lowers risk, but it does not guarantee who someone is or how she will behave. See Section 8.
We handle your ID and selfie as described in our Privacy Policy, and we delete them once they are no longer needed for verification.
5. Connecting with other members
- Friends and non-friends. Before you are friends, members see a limited profile, such as your first name, photo, age, country, bio, and verification status. Details such as your city, occupation, interests, and Life Lately posts are shared only with your friends.
- Your location. HelloFellow uses your location to show you sisters and churches nearby. Other members see an approximate location (about a mile off), never your exact spot. You can choose how far away you appear in Settings.
- Messaging. You can message a member once she has accepted your request.
- Blocking and reporting. You can block or report any member at any time. We review reports and may act on them as described in Section 11.
6. Community standards
HelloFellow is built on kindness, honesty, and respect. You agree not to:
- pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your identity, age, or gender;
- use HelloFellow for dating, romantic solicitation, or to meet anyone other than for friendship and fellowship;
- sell, advertise, recruit for a business, multi-level marketing, or fundraising, or ask other members for money;
- harass, bully, threaten, shame, or discriminate against anyone;
- post anything sexual, violent, hateful, illegal, or that invades someone’s privacy;
- share another member’s personal information or messages without her permission;
- collect other members’ information, or use bots, scripts, or other automated means to use the Service;
- create fake, duplicate, or shared accounts, or try to get around a block, suspension, or removal; or
- try to interfere with, break into, or misuse the Service, or help anyone else do so.
We may remove content or accounts that break these standards.
7. Your content
“Your content” means anything you add to HelloFellow, such as your profile, photos, bio, Life Lately posts, messages, church suggestions, and reports.
You keep ownership of your content. By adding it, you give HelloFellow a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process it only to run and improve the Service. For example, this lets us show your profile to other members, deliver your messages, and make blurred previews of your photo. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for legal or safety reasons, and content you shared with others, such as messages they received.
You promise that you have the right to share your content, and that it follows these Terms.
8. Meeting in person and your safety
HelloFellow helps you find other women, but we do not run background checks and cannot guarantee anyone’s identity, intentions, or behavior, even when she is verified. You are responsible for your own interactions, online and in person.
When you meet someone, we encourage you to meet in a public place, tell a friend or family member where you are going, arrange your own transportation, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. If anyone makes you feel unsafe, block and report them, and contact local emergency services if you are in danger.
9. Churches and places
Church listings come from Google and from churches suggested by members, which we review before adding. Listings are for convenience only. HelloFellow does not endorse, verify, or guarantee any church, ministry, or place, its beliefs, its safety, or the accuracy of its address, hours, phone number, or ratings. Please confirm details with the church directly before you visit.
We try to show you churches in the same country you are searching from. If you plan to cross a border, check the travel documents you need.
You can report a listing that seems wrong, and we may hide or remove it.
10. Subscriptions, free trials, and billing
- Plans. Some features require a paid subscription. We offer monthly and annual plans, and the price and features of each are shown in the app before you subscribe. Some features, such as Trip Planning, may only be included in certain plans.
- Free trial. New members may be offered a free trial (currently 7 days). Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts, and you are charged at the end of the trial.
- Billing through Apple or Google. Subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, using the account you are signed in with there. Their terms also apply to your purchase.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it renews.
- Cancelling. You can cancel anytime in your Apple or Google account subscription settings. Deleting the HelloFellow app or your HelloFellow account does not cancel your subscription. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are handled by Apple or Google, so refund requests go to them under their refund policies. Except where the law requires otherwise, HelloFellow does not issue refunds for partial periods.
- Price changes. If a price changes, we or the app store will tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
- When a plan ends. If your trial or subscription ends, you keep your account and your friends, but some features, such as viewing new members’ full profiles, are no longer available until you subscribe again.
- Founding members. Members who received Founding Fellow or other special access keep the benefits we told them about, which we may describe separately.
11. Suspending or removing accounts
We may limit, suspend, or remove your account, or remove content, without notice if we reasonably believe that you broke these Terms, put another member at risk, gave us false information, or that the law requires it. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you why.
If your account is removed, you may not create a new one. If you believe we made a mistake, contact us at support@hellofellowapp.com.
Removing an account does not by itself cancel or refund an app store subscription. See Section 10.
12. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. When you do, we delete your profile and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy, except for information we must keep for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention reasons. Remember to cancel any subscription in your Apple or Google account.
13. HelloFellow’s content and the app
HelloFellow, including its design, logo, devotionals, Bible studies, and software, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose while you follow these Terms. You may not copy, sell, or modify the app or its content, or reverse-engineer it, except as the law allows.
Scripture quotations are used under the terms of their publishers.
14. Changes to HelloFellow and to these Terms
We may add, change, or remove features. We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using HelloFellow after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
15. Disclaimers
HelloFellow is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any member, church, or listing is accurate, safe, or suitable for you.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, HelloFellow and its owners, team, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your interactions with other members or with any church or place, whether online or in person.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.
Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
17. Indemnity
If you break these Terms or the law, or your content causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, damages, and legal fees that result, to the extent the law allows.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of OH, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please contact us at support@hellofellowapp.com so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot resolve it within 60 days, either of us may bring the claim in the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, OH, and we both agree to those courts.
19. Apple-specific terms
If you downloaded HelloFellow from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and HelloFellow, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app. Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
20. General
If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a part of these Terms right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else; we may transfer them as part of a merger, sale, or similar change. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and HelloFellow about the Service.
